Ingredients
- Oil — not olive, 2 big spoons
- 1 garlic clove
- 2 green mugs of water — in the not-smallest pan, with lid
- 1 green mug of rice
Steps
- Boil the water (but don’t let it evaporate too soon) with a little bit of salt
- Fry gralic a bit, then put all the rice into a pan with it. Mix mix mix frying. Take off when starts to smell funny.
- Add rice to boiling water. Put on 5. Put lid on (not 100% on pan). Leave for 16 minutes, checking at 13 minutes.
- Then put lid on pan and leave off heat for 5 mins.
- Fluff up with spoon.
In our Electrolux rice cooker
- Electrolux rice cooker cup holds about 130g dry white rice
- Electrolux rice cooker cup is 150ml (that’s 0.63 US cup)
- Let’s try 1 teaspoon of salt per normal cup, so that’s about 0.6 teaspoon per Electrolux cup - seems OK
Washing:
- need to wash it very well or it all foams up and makes a mess (to be honest, still haven’t figured out how to make it not make a mess)
Brown rice
- 250ml of water per Electrolux cup of rice. (i.e. 1 2/3 of water per rice)
- Soak for 15 mins (in the water that you’re going to cook it in)
